EMILY MANNING PEACOCK – Died July 26th, 1893, at the residence of her son W.F. Peacock, in Decorah, of partial paralysis.

She was born in the year 1817 in the state of Vermont, “married to Geo. Peacock, of Yorkshire, England, in the year 1835. Seven children were born to them of which six survive. They moved to Iowa in the year 1855. Her husband departed this life before her, seventeen years ago. She was a kind and loving mother beloved by all who knew her. She was a member of the M.E. church but on account of failing health she has not been able to attend for several years past. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church at Burr Oak, Friday last, Rev. Fickle officiating.
