Silas Cornell, whom we have mentioned from time to time in our notes, died from pneumonia last Friday morning. His death was not unexpected, as it was thought for some days that he would not recover. He had been a very rugged and robust man all his life, but when he lost his leg last June, he lost courage also, and steadily failed, until death relieved him of his sufferings. His funeral was largely attended at the Universalist church last Sunday at 2 P.M. Rev. Howe officiating, Mr Cornell leaves a wife and four children, three boys and one daughter, to mourn the loss of a loving and indulgent husband and father. The stricken friends have the sympathy of the entire community.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a grave shows that he served in the Civil War in Co K 28th Wisconsin Infantry and is buried at Bloomfield Cemetery.
