--The remains of George L. Chase, who died near Harmony, Minn, from the effects of a dose of laudanum, were brought to Hesper and buried in the family lot on the night of the 4th. The funeral services were held at the Friends’ church on the 9th, Rev. E G. Parker preaching from the words “Come unto me all ye that labor and I will give you rest.”

--Mr Clarence Chase, of Sparta, Wis, attended the funeral of his father G.L. Chase, and also spent several days visiting relatives.

Transcriber's Notes: Find a grave shows he was born in 1847 and is buried at Hesper Public Cemetery.
