Ross Tipp Dead.
Monday afternoon about 4:30 o’clock Ross Tipp, station agent at Conover, died at the home of his parents, from a complication of diseases.
Mr. Tipp was born in Grant Co., Wis., Oct. 2d, 1856. When he was nine years old the family moved to Conover. Here he learned telegraphy and entered the service of the Milwaukee railroad, serving for ten years as operator at St. Paul. Fifteen years ago, feeling that he was not strong enough to do the work required of him, he asked to be removed to a station where the duties would be lighter. He was given the Conover office and here he remained. For a time his health was better but later it began to fail, and though he sought and secured relief by quite an extended trip south, the ailments which caused his death returned and he was unable to withstand them. He was a capable man in his position, which he filled with satisfaction and fidelity. Though suffering constantly he remained at his post until last Thurs¬day, after that time being confined to the house though up and about. Just a moment before his death he started to arrange a curtain of one of the windows when he was stricken and died almost immediately. Mr. Tipp enjoyed the respect and friendship of a large number of acquaintances. His parents, two brothers, Frank and Fred, and one sister, Mrs. Robt. Weitman, of this city, survive him. The funeral services were held yesterday morning Rev. Lockard of the Methodist church, officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery in this city.
