HANCOCK—In Larimore. N. D., Sept 30th, 1897, Mr. Volney M. Babcock, formerly of Prosper, Minn., aged about 65 years.
Mr. Babcock was one of the old residents of Fillmore Co., Minn., and a brother of John J. Babcock, of Burr Oak township, but he had lived a number of years with a sister in N. D. He was brought to Prosper for burial beside his wife.
The funeral was held in Prosper last Sunday, conducted by Elder J. Ridley, and as he was an old soldier he was borne to his last resting place by his old comrades.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1835 and is buried in Prosper Cemetery in Canton, MN.
