LUBKE—At the home of his parents in Decorah township. Thursday. Sept. 30th, 1897, of typhoid fever, John Herman Lubke, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lubke, aged 17 years, 1 month and 27 days.
The deceased was a bright young man and the pride of a loving father and mother. His death was a sore affliction to the family. The funeral was held last Saturday afternoon at two o’clock, and the remains were interred in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery, Decorah. Rev. Kautz, of Fredericksburg, officiated. Handsome floral designs evidenced the esteem in which the young man was held by many friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Lubke desire to express to their friends their deep gratitude for the many acts of kindness and the sympathy expressed during the illness of their son and his death and burial.Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in Lutheran Decorah Cemetery shows his name as Johann Herrman and that he was born Aug. 3, 1880.
