Death of Andrew Ellestad.
The dangerous illness of Mr. Andrew Ellestad was mentioned a few weeks ago. The Posten of Tuesday announces his death as having occurred July 17th, at Vestre Slidre, Norway, where he has been living since 1892. His disease was cancer of the stomach, and the last weeks of his life were very painful. Mr. Ellestad, was born in Vestre Slidre, March 24th, 1844, and came to Iowa, locating in Decorah, while quite young. Mr. E. had been a married man, but his wife died many years ago, leaving no children. A brother residing somewhere in the western part of this country, and two sisters survive him. One sister lives in Norway, and Mrs. Hande resides in Spring Valley, Minn. He leaves quite a bit of real estate in Decorah.
