One of the saddest deaths that has occured in this vicinity for some time is that of Roy Masters, who died Saturday of heart disease while hauling wood. He was only 22 years and 6 months of age and leaves a widowed mother and grandmother with whom he lived and was their main support. He leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held from the M. E. church, Rev. J. Hilburn officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 24, 1874 and died Feb. 6, 1897. He is buried in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
