Death of Mrs. C. L. Allen.
The aged mother of J. V. Allen died Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock after an illness extending over three months and resulting from paralysis,
Mrs. Allen was born in 1820 at Uffing{illegible}, N. Y. and was married to C. L. Allen in 1847 at Deansville, N.Y. Three years later they moved to Wisconsin which state they resided until 1865, when they came to Postville. In 1892 Mr. Allen died and in 1893 Mrs. Allen came to Decorah to reside with her son. Two years she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she recovered sufficiently to be around the house. Three months ago she was stricken a second time and has since been confined to her bed. A third stroke on Saturday last gave warning that her hours were numbered and when death claimed her it brought relief from suffering
The funeral will be held at the house this afternoon at three o’clock, Rev. Willett officiating, and the remains will buried at Postville to-morrow beside those of her husband.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Susan who is buried in the Postville Cemetery. It shows she died Nov. 28; however, according to the above it must have been Nov. 21.
