—Mrs. Amos J. McKay died at 10 o’clock last evening after an illness of many years, in her 80th year. Funeral from late residence Saturday afternoon. Obituary next week.

OBITUARY.
Another of the pioneer mothers of this city passed away at her home on Michanic{sp} street last Wednesday night, Mrs. Elizabeth McKay, wife of Amos J McKay, aged 79 years, 10 months,* and 22 days. Deceased had been a sufferer from paralysis for many years.
Elizabeth Jodon was born in Eastern Pennsylvania, near the Jersey shore, April 29,* 1820. She came with her father's family across the Alleghany mountains to Waterford, Erie Co., Va., where they lived a number of years. Her father was a soldier in the American army during the war of 1812.
In the year 1840 she was married to Amos J. McKay. By this union four children were born, all of whom survive her.
In the year 1855 she came with her husband and children to Winnesheik county, Iowa, settling at the village of Freeport. In the year 1858, the family removed to Decorah, where she has since resided until her death
She had been a sufferer for many years with paralysis, and on Wednesday night at 10:00 o'clock she passed away from earth to her home lo heaven to dwell with Jesus.
At the age of 18 years she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and has been a member of that church for nearly 62 years. During all those years she has been an earnest {C}hristian. taking the Holy Bible for her guide. She was a good wife and one of the best of mothers. All her brothers and sisters, with the exception of Mrs. Henry Adams of this city, who is is{sic} the only survivor of the Jodon family, have passed away.
She leaves an aged husband, Amos J. McKay, and four children, this being the first death in the family. Her children are Albert M McKay and Mrs. Della Holcomb of this citv, and Mrs. Maggie I. Tubbs and Lizzie L. West of Superior. Wis.
The funeral services were conducted from the residence, 608 Mechanic street, by Rev. Smith, pastor of the First M. E. church, on Saturday. Nov. 25, 1899, and the remains were laid to rest in the Montgomery cemetery, there to await the glorious resurrection morning.
