A Victim of Flames.
Spring Grove Herald —Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Rouk, of Black Hammer, are mourning the loss of a boy, four years old, who died Monday morning from injuries sustained by having his clothing catch fire from the kitchen stove. The little one was playing about the kitchen and his sister was playing about an adjoining room when suddenly she was attracted by agonizing cries from her brother, when first seen his clothing was on fire in front and ere his mother arrived the heart-sickening sight that met her gaze revealed but a sheet of angry flames mercilessly scorching the writhing form of her precious child. The frantic mother instantly set about to extinguish the fire, aided by her daughter, but ere they succeeded, both were seriously burned and their dear one had guttered injuries from which he died the next morning.
