A Sad Death.
Last Saturday while Ole O. Lomen, of Springfield township, was engaged in repairing a hole in the roof of his milk house, his little three-year-old son, Ernest, was playing about both inside and out. The interior of the house has a water box of ordinary depth where cans of milk are set, and it was here that Mr. Lomen found the babe, his body extending half way over the edge of the box and the face covered by water. Scarcely twenty minutes previous he had been down on the ground talking to the little fellow, and as he heard no noise to indicate anything was wrong the shock that he received can well be imagined. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the home, Rev. Bakken officiating, and interment was made in the Springfield cemetery. A large company gathered to show by their presence their sympathy for the grief stricken parents.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 18, 1896 and died June 3, 1899. He is buried in the Springfield Cemetery.
