Just before the holidays Mrs. E. M. McIntosh went to Wells, Minn , to visit with her sister, Mrs. Hurlbut. Not long after she was taken ill with a complication of diseases and getting worse, her son, Bert McIntosh, and her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Morrison, were sent for. Human help did not avail and on the 16th, she went to meet the many friends who have gone before. The body was brought to Hesper for burial beside that of her husband who had preceeded her. The funeral services were held in the Friends’ church, conducted by Rev. William Cummings, pastor of the Methodist church, of which the deceased had been a loyal member. There was a large attendance, among those present, there being many relatives from Decorah. The floral decorations were beautiful, the casket being almost buried in carnations and roses. Mrs. McIntosh will be greatly missed in church work as she was always willing to do all that her strength allowed. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved children and other near relatives. The sister, Mrs. Hurlbut, will remain a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Morrison.
