OBITUARY;
Monday last after an illness which extended over five years, but only four months of which had been serious, Mrs. Robert Wheatman died at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, where she had gone for treatment. Mrs. Wheatman was the only daughter of Frederick Tipp, of Conover, and was born thirty-seven years ago last April in Wisconsin and came to Winnesheik county with her parents when she was a little girl. In 1893 she was married to Mr. Wheatman. About five years ago she was attacked by an illness which baffled the skill of physicians. She was not seriously affected until last March, since which time she has suffered greatly. The diagnosis of the disease was paralysis of the nerves. Through her trials she has been always hopeful of recovery. Though no children came to bless this union the home has been a happy one. Mrs. Wheatman was baptised in the Methodist church, and from there her remains were borne to the cemetery yesterday afternoon and laid at rest. A brief service at the home preceded the church service, and the Odd Fellows and Woodmen, of which orders Mr. Wheatman was a member, attended in large numbers, the former having charge of the services. Beside her husband, her father and two brothers, Frank and Fred, survive her.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave this was Minnie and that she is buried in Phelps Cemetery and was born April 14, 1863 and died Aug. 20, 1900.
