GORED BY A BULL.
Mrs. Torger Landsrud Dies from Injuries Inflicted by the Vicious Animal.
As the result of being gored by a vicious bull, Mrs, Torger Landsrud died last night at the family home a mile west of Nordness, about eleven o’clock. Between six and seven o'clock Mrs. Landsrud went to the pasture to drive in the cattle. After that nothing is known of what happened, until members of the family heard her calling for help. Her daughter went to her assistance, and with the aid of the dog drove the animal off. Mrs Landsrud was conveyed to the house and Dr. Barfoot sent for. When he arrived be found the injuries to be so serious that he could render no material aid. Why she went for the cattle the members of the family cannot understand. It was contrary to her custom and there was no reason for it. The daughter usually brought them up, the dog assisting while she drove a horse. The bull was not a safe animal as he had shown a disposition to be ugly and had once attacked the horse while the cows were being driven from the pasture.
Mrs. Landsrud was about fifty-five years old and the wife of one of the old and well-known residents of Springfield township. Mr Landsrud has recently bargained for a home in Decorah, we are told, and they were anticipating the enjoyment of rest which is the reward of hard labor and frugality

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Ambjorg who is buried in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery and that she was born May 11, 1846.
