Death came to Mrs. Charles Golz in this city on Friday morning last, in her 76th year. Up to within a few hours of her death she was enjoying perfect health but that too common enemy of age—appoplexy—came to her, and at 3 a. m. she passed from this life into the eternal.
Caroline Noske was born in Prussia Aug 21st, 1824, and married Mr. Chas. Golz in April, 1847. In 1853 they decided to come to the United States and first located in Davenport. Four years later they came to Decorah where they have ever since lived. There were born to them five children, all of whom survive her, viz. Ernest, Frank, Albert, Mrs. J. E. Morton and Miss Ida.
Deceased was eminently a homekeeper—a devoted mother, a loving wife and a true Christian, having united with the Lutheran church in her 15th year. Peaceful be her rest.
