CRESCO - Ann “Sonnie” Herold died at her home on Nov. 7, 2019.
A private graveside service is planned for April 4, 2020 at St. Wenceslaus Church cemetery in Spillville, Iowa.
Ann “Sonnie” Brooks was born on Nov. 3, 1943 in Roanoke, Va. to Pleasant and Beatrice (Weiss) Brooks. She received her masters degree in Library Science and began her career teaching English and Journalism at Izard County Consolidated School in Brockwell, Ark. Education was close to her heart.
She married her husband, Donald A. “Buzz” Herold on April 26, 2000 in Melbourne Ark. Don died on Aug. 11, 2016. During her retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling by motorhome and traveled extensively in the United States, as well as Canada.
Sonnie was preceded by her husband, Don, and a sister, Bonnie Brooks.
