W. W. Bandle, who recently went to Chicago for treatment for one of his eyes, was taken ill after arriving there and for several days was confined to the hospital. He returned to Decorah last week Wednesday and has since been in a very serious condition. He is being cared for at the home of Mrs. John Gould. P. S.—We regret to hear that death came at 6:30 this morning.

Wm. Bandel was buried this afternoon. The funeral was largely attended, showing the high esteem he was held in. All feel they have lost a friend. He was a good neighbor, always ready to assist in time of trouble. We deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in their affliction.

Wm. Bandell was laid to rest in our cemetery on Friday last.

Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled three different ways. His gravestone in Burr Oak Cemetery shows Bandle and that he was born June 2, 1838.
