The Sudden Death of Ernest Golz.
After an illness of a little more than twenty-four hours Ernest Golz, oldest son of Charles Golz, died last Sunday morning. Mr Golz went to bed Friday night in his usual health. About five o’clock Saturday morning he awoke with intense pain. A physician was called but nothing that could be done seemed to relieve him and death resulted as above stated. A post mortem examination held Monday by Drs. Jewell, Stevens and and Swezey disclosed the probable cause of his death was a blood clot in the intestines
Mr. Golz was born in Germany April 8, 1850, and came to this country with his parents at the age of three years. He was educated in the cabinet makers’ trade and for a number of years has followed carpentering. His long association with Mr. George Brunner made him a most valued assistant to that gentleman, one whom it will be hard to replace. Mr. Golz was married in 1871 to Miss Minnie Kotz. Eight children were born to them, five of whom, with Mrs. Golz, survive to mourn the death of a husband and father. Mr. Golz was a quiet, pleasant spoken man, who earned the respect of his fellow men by his industry. The funeral was held Tuesday.
