One of Hesper’s pioneers, Ole B. Anderson, passed away on the 16th after a long and painful illness from cancer of the stomach. Mr. Anderson was born in Norway, came to this country in 1853 and settled on the farm upon which he died. Starting with nothing, financially, he reared a good sized family, acquired a competence, and, what was better, the respect or his fellow citizens. Three daughters and two sons mourn the loss of a kind father. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church on the 19th and a large concourse of people by their attendance gave token of their respect for the deceased.
Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos show he is buried in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery and was born Nov. 12, 1826.
