OBITUARY.
Intelligence cormes to us of the death on the 4th inst. at Shawnee, Pa., of Mrs. Lizzie Tupper, widow of Capt. Charles C. Tupper, one of the pioneer attorneys of this city, who was captain of Company G, 12th Iowa Infantry, and died in Burton-Barracks, St. Louis, in 1862, Soon after her husband’s death she returned to her native state, but had kept a friendly relation, by letter, with the warm, intimate associates of the five years she spent in Decorah. She was ill for several weeks, but death resulted from an operation from which an enfeebled condition of the body did not permit her to rally She was one of the “saints.”Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in the Shawnee Presbyterian Cemetery in Shawnee, PA. and that she was born March 8, 1835.
