Kuntz.
Andrew Kuntz was born at. Batesville, Ripley county, Ind., May 31, 1841. He came to his farm near Ridgeway Winneshiek county, Iowa, about 23 years ago. He was married to Barbara Butz July 1, 1862, his beloved wife and companion preceding him to their heavenly home the third day of July of this year. Ten children were born to them, eight sons and two daughters. One daughter has passed away. Mr. Kuntz had been a sick man for the past two years. He was confined to his bed almost unable to move, deaf and speechless for almost a year. He was a faithful member and official of the German M. E. church the greater part of life. It might be said of him as the Holy Scripture has said of Barabas: “He was a good man and full of the Holy Ghost and faith." He lived a quiet, simple Christian life, beloved by his family and friends, and walked among his fellow men as one of God’s children.
“And he was not; for God took him.”
The funeral services were conducted from the German Methodist Episcopal church by Rev. Domero of Decorah and Rev. Soper of Cresco. Burial was in the Butz cemetery adjoining the church.

The death of grandpa Kuntz occurred last week and his remains laid to rest in the cemetery near the German M. E. church on Monday morning, Rev Darnerow of Decorah having charge of the funeral rites. The end was not unexpected when it did come and was peaceful and quiet. A large circle of friends and relatives showed their respect for him by following the remains to their last resting place
