Peter Jacobson Hoisved was born in Throndhyun, Norway, in 1840. He spent his early life at this place, and came to America with his wife and family in 1899, and lived here until his death, which occurred Aug. 1, 1912. The deceased was 72 years of age, but as spry as a man of 50, and the day before his death had walked to the home of his son, 2 miles distant. He was taken sick the next morning and died in less than an hour. He had 7 sons and 2 daughters, 1 son dying before they came to this country, leaving Jens, Ole, Culbert, Mrs. Andrew Risdalh, and Miss Marie, of this place, and Olaf, Hans and Richard, of Dakota, who with the aged, sorrowing wife, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. The funeral services were held Sunday in the Fremont Norwegian church, Rev. Gerhard Rasmussen officiating, after which the body was laid to rest in the Fremont cemetery.
