OBITUARY.
Frank Otis Bucknum, aged 53 years, died at Baker, Oregon, Aug. 19, 1912. Mr. Bucknum was the son of Karner Knapp Bucknum and Mary Elizabeth Baldwin. He was born in Decorah, Iowa, January 29th, 1859. His ancestors were among the earliest colonists. He was a grandson of Cyrus Baldwin and Elizabeth Church and great grandson of Dr. Amasa Bucknum of Stanford, Duchess Co., N. Y., also great grandson of Hon. James Baldwin of Egremont, Berkshire Co., Mass., who served in the Revolutionary war and was afterwards a member of the legislature of Massachusetts for thirty years, also a member of the constitutional convention of 1820.
For the past thirty years Mr. Bucknum resided in Washington and Oregon, where he has been extensively interested in mining and real estate. He is survived by his wife who is the daughter of the late John Elder of Heppner, Oregon, and three children, Paul, William and Helen; also a mother residing in Minneapolis.
