The Late William Webster.
For about thirty years the name of Wm. Webster appeared on the subscription list of the REPUBLICAN. He was born in County Armagh, Ireland, April 14th, 1828, and died Nov. 28, 1902. Soon after marrying Mary Ann Todd he came to Iowa and settled in Fremont township where they lived until a little more than a year ago when they moved on a farm near Cresco .Eleven children were born to them, of whom the following are living. Ham Webster of Elgin, Ill.., Dr. Geo. W. Webster, of Chicago, and J C., and W. J., Mrs. Chas. Lemon, Miss Grace and Miss Hattie, all living in or near Cresco. The remains were buried in the Kendallville cemetery. One of his memoirs says the deceased lived a quiet, unostentious{sp} life, and was respected and honored by all who knew him. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church, a good neighbor a kind husband and an indulgent father. He was kind and generous in all his dealings with humanity, and ever ready to lend a helping hand to the distressed in all the walks of life.
