OBITUARIES
MRS. JOSEPH ADAMS.
Louisa Dunbar Warren Adams departed this life at Port Townsend, Wash., July 11th, 1902. Mrs. Adams was born in the city of Philadelphia, Pa., of Scotch-Irish and English ancestry, Jan. 28th, 1815, being at the time of her death 87 years, 5 months and 13 days old. She was married September 7th, 1833, to Rev Joseph Adams, a minister of the Presbyterian church. Eleven children were born to them, six of whom are still living. After residing in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, the family moved to Frankville, Winneshiek Co., Iowa, in the fall of 1855. Her husband having died in 1871 she continued to live on the farm, one and one-half miles west of the village of Frankville with her younger children until 1886, when the family moved to Decorah. After residing there four years in 1890 she made her last move in company with her two youngest children, Joseph A. and Sarah E. Adams, to Port Townsend, Wash. Her last illness was of nearly two years’ duration, causing her much suffering, but it was born with great fortitude and patience. She was always a woman of particularly bright and vigorous intellect, well read and thoroughly posted on all the topics of the day. Having lived through the developing period of our country she has a witness of the marvelous inventions of the last century. A true Christian woman, a devoted mother and a faithful friend, she has passed to her reward, full of years, with the respect and love of all who enjoyed her acquaintance.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Townsend, WA.
