MBS. K. I. HAUGEN.
Shortly after five o’clock Saturday afternoon Mrs. K. I. Haugen passed from suffering into eternal rest. For a number of years Mrs. Haugen has been in frail health but not until a year ago did her condition become serious. Physicians then pronounced her illness as consumption and though everything possible was done to relieve her they were only able to check the disease and permit her to remain a little longer with her husband and children. Mrs. Haugen’s maiden name was Minnie Aurora Boyd, and she was born in West Decorah, on Sept. 21, 1865. Sept. 17, 1883, she was married to Mr. Haugen. To them seven children were born, six of whom, with the husband, an aged mother, three brothers, and three sisters survive. In all the duties of life Mrs. Haugen was a true and womanly woman. She was a member of the First Lutheran church and while health permitted was active in all good works pertaining thereto. Faithful as a wife, kind and indulgent as a mother, cordial in all her relations with friend and neighbor, her memory will be long cherished by all who knew her. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon the 1st Lutheran church and were attended by a large number of friends.Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos show she is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery and it shows her date of death as July 20, 1902.
