DIED.
UIPDEGHAFF—At the family home near Salem, Oregon, Saturday, June 14. 1902, of consumptlon, Clarence L. Updegraff. aged 30 years.
Deceased was the second son of Lewis and Mary Updegraff, formerly of Hesper, Iowa, where he was born May 29, 1872, and where he lived until 1893, when, with his parents, he removed to Oregon. Of a bright and cheerful disposition when a boy, he had many friends who will learn with regret of his death. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Savior and, to the best of his ability, endeavored to live a Christian life. At about the age of twenty he became the victim of a slight mental derangement with which he was afflicted ever afterward. His last sickness continued for a period of about three months, and during that time it can truthfully be said he uttered scarcely one complaining word. Funeral services were held at the home, Rev. F. M. George of the Friends’ church officiating, and burial was made in the cemetery near Salem, where the father of the deceased was laid to rest only eighteen months before.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the City View Cemetery in Salem, Oregon.
