Michael Mikesh, an old and respected resident of Conover, died last Wednesday after a brief illness. The remains were interred at Spillville Friday. He leaves a wife, one son and two daughters to mourn his loss, O. J. Mikesh of Spencer, Mrs. Chas. Hauser of Spillville, and Mrs. Geo. Cummins of this place. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery shows his name as Matej. He was born Feb. 25, 1839 and died April, 1902.
