Died Far From Home.
Wm. Luft, a cigar maker who had worked in the Ruble & Jansen cigar factory since May last, died Thursday, the 5th inst, after two week’s illness from typhoid fever. Deceased was born June 17, 1879, in Hamburg, Germany, and when he came to America came directly to Decorah,, where he has since resided. He was a young man of sunny temperament and soon numbered a large acquaintanceship among his countrymen. Soon after his arrival he became identified with Frohsim Singing Society whose members cared for him during his illness. The funeral was held Sunday from the First Lutheran church, Rev. J. B. Torreson officiating, the music being furnished by Frohsim and interment made in the Lutheran cemetery. Mr. Luft leaves a mother, two brothers and a sister residing in Germany.
