News just comes this morning from Salt Lake,
Utah, that Oscar, aged 16 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Manning, died Nov. 18th of small pox at the home, 17 Grape Street. The young man was only sick a week, but the disease was in a most virulent form. His sister Alice, a teacher in one of the schools, is just recovering from a severe form of the same dreadful disease, but her constitution being stronger she withstood its ravages. The other members of the family had successful vaccination four years ago. I am sure the heartfelt sympathy of their old Burr Oak neighbors goes out to the afflicted family.Transcriber’s note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah and that he was born May 23, 1888.
