John T. Selnes of Highland died Tuesday night from dropsy. Mr. Selnes was an old and highly esteemed resident of the township, prosperous and progressive. He is survived by a family of five sons.

John F. Selnes' funeral was held at the Lutheran church on the afternoon of the 13th at the same hour as Mrs. Darrington’s funeral. The house was filled with sympathizing friends. Rev. A. O. Langhaugh officiated. The five sons and a nephew of the deceased acted as bearers.

Transcriber’s Note: His middle initial varies but Find a Grave shows it is T. and that he is buried in Hesper Public Cemetery and was born in 1838.
