OBITUARY.
Choloe Jane Norton, daughter of R. A. and E. M. Norton, was born near Vergennes, Addison county, Vermont, Feb. 1, 1828. Her early years were lived there. At the age of twelve she united with the Baptist church She was a member of the class of 1845 at Vergennes Academy in the same year she was married to O. E. Cooley, who preceded her to the great beyond in 1898. To them were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy. Two sons and two daughters survive the mother They are O. E. Coolev, New York Mills, Minn., Mrs. E. C. White, Austin, Minn., Mrs. B. L. Sibert, Cresco, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Cooley were among the early pioneers of Winneshiek county and rocked the cradle of Bluffton. She died April 30. 1904.
