It is with feeling of sadness, we record the death of Henry Clinton Palmer, who was born in Scoharie county, N. Y., Aug. 15, 1825. When quite young the family moved to Indiana, and from thence to McHenry countv, Ill., where he married Emily Hoag, Sept. 9, 1849. Of the two children born to them one died in Infancy, and the other, Mrs. S. A Pierce, still survives with the wife. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer came to Iowa in 1855, and settled on the farm where they have lived for almost half a century. Mr. Palmer from his long residence here became widely known as a man of unblemished character and sterling integrity. He died of Bright’s disease April 16, 1904, aged nearly seventy eight years. The large attendance at the funeral on Sunday showed the high respect in which Mr. Palmer was held in the community. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Dorcas.
