Mrs. Frank J. Musser
Mrs. Myrtle Kittinger-Musser, wife of operator F. J. Musser at the Rock Island depot, died Monday morning at 11:15 o’clock after an illness of nine days from pleuro-pneumonia following childbirth. A little daughter was born on Friday, the 11th, and two days later the complications set in which resulted in death. Mrs. Musser was a daughter of D. F Kittinger, and was born Sept. 30, 1877, at Castalia, which was her parental home until only a few months ago. On Sept. 6th, 1899, she was married to Frank J. Musser, and they have resided in Decorah since the fall of 1902. The parents and brother came from Des Moines Friday, and, with her sister, Mrs. J. N Topliff, Jr., were with her at the time of her death. Mrs. Musser was in every way an estimable young woman, and much sympathy is felt for her family in their bereavement. A funeral service conducted by Dr. Willett was held Tues¬day morning and the remains taken to Castalia whert{sic} Rev. Ross of the U. Mrs. F. J. Musser died at her home in Decorah Monday, March 21, after a ten days’ sickness, during which she was a great sufferer, hut which she endured with never a complaint. Although racked with pain herself, she was solicitous for the welfare of those about her and in fact this was the predominating feature of her life. Myrtle Kittinger was born in Castalia, September 30, 1877, and has lived most of the time in the place of her birth. September 6th, 1899, she was married to F. J. Musser. For a time she, with her husband, lived at Rowen, where Mr. Musser was employed as station agent. Later they moved to Decorah where they have lived since. Myrtle was always an active worker in the different societies of the church and never tired of doing a kind act for those with whom she came in contact. She was respected by all who knew her and her large circle of friends mourn her untimely death. She is survived by her husband and infant daughter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kittinger, of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. T. N. Toppliff of Des Moines, Mrs, James Hunter of Castalia, and brother Fred Kittingcr of Des Moines, all of whom will be present at the funeral to-morrow. Rev. Ross will preach the funeral sermon.

In writing the obituaries of Mrs. F. J. Musser and Charles Bloxham, the dates of birth were incorrect. The former should have been Sept. 30, 1879; and the latter June 21, 1881.
