Death of Henry W. Klemme.
Henry W. Klemme for many years a resident at Ridgeway but for the past fifteen years or more living at Elma, died Saturday, August 29, aged 87 years. He passed his birthday on Friday, and while not in robust health for many years, appeared to be as usual on Saturday. When dinner time came he attempted to rise from his chair and succumbed, almost instantly. We have no particulars regarding his life save that he is survived by his aged wife and thirteen sons and daughters, all but two of whom come to attend the funeral. They are Philip of Albert Lea, Charles of Huron, S. D., W. H. of Ridgeway, Harmon of Belmond, Mrs. H. Longely, Christina and Henry of Dows, John, whose home is in Florida, Mrs. Ferguson, and J. W. of Elma, B. F. of Charles City, Joseph of Boulder, Col., and Stephen of Dysart. The funeral was held Tuesday morning and the remains were brought to Decorah for burial. In all the elements of Christian citizenship Mr. Klemme was a splendid example.--Decorah Republican.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Phelps Cemetery and that he was born August 28, 1821 and died August 29, 1908.
