Thomas John Nolan, resident of Decorah for the past ten years, became ill last Friday, July 17 from a heart attack and was taken to the Decorah hospital Saturday afternoon about 4:00 o'clock, where he died Sunday morning at 1:00 o'clock.
He was born in Windom, Minn., Dec. 18, 1887, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Nolan. He was 54 years old.
He came to Decorah about ten years ago and had been employed as a chef at Sande's Cafe since. His wife died some years ago.
He is survived by a brother, Harry Nolan and a niece, Mrs. Cleo Musch, both of Davenport. They arrived here yesterday.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Fjelstul funeral home. Rev. Alfred H Bartter, pastor of the Congregational church officiated. Burial was made in the Springwater cemetery north of Decorah.
The pallbearers were Gust E. Haugen, Fred Pliester, Marvin Sande, Kimbell Peterson, Louis Fadness and John Lannon.
