Helen M. Rothmeyer, 92, of Rockford passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, in Presence Cor Mariae Center. Born May 8, 1926, in St. Lucas, IA, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Setter) Blong. Married Donald F. Rothmeyer on January 22, 1951, in LaCrosse, WI. Helen was a devout Catholic who loved her family immediate and extended. She had numerous jobs in retail and clerical throughout her life but will be most remembered for touching so many lives with her loving presence, and her service as a Eucharistic Minister, caregiver, and volunteer at St. Anne's, Presence Cor Mariae, St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Poor Clares Convent and River Bluff Nursing Home. She was a loving mother, homemaker, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and wife. Special thanks to Cor Mariae for their many years of compassionate care. Survivors include her son, Gary (Michelle) Rothmeyer; grandchildren, Alyssa Crowder, Cullen Rothmeyer, Sara Rothmeyer and Jon Rothmeyer; step-grandchildren, Bradley Hamblock and Andrea Hamblock; great-grandchildren, Chelsey Crowder, Zoey Edwards and Reyna Rothmeyer; sisters, Vera Wiest and Ethel (Dan) Neuzil; brother, John (Marsha) Blong, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Herbert Blong, Arthur Blong and Donnie (Lorsie) Blong; sister, Marcella Nicklaus; and brother-in-law, Clarence Wiest.

Prayer Service at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 2 p.m. to service time. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church, 2351 County Road B32, Festina, IA. Schluter & Balik Funeral Home in Calmar, IA, is assisting the family in Iowa. Burial in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery, Festina, IA.
