James Powers, whose burial occurred last Monday, died last Saturday evening. Pneumonia, combined with old age, was the main cause of death. He arrived at the ripe age of 84 years.

James Powers died at the ripe age of eighty-five years, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. R. J. McKernan, Friday night, April 21st. Mr. Powers was for many years a resident of this township, but later made his home in Ossian. The funeral occurred from the Catholic church in Ossian Monday.
