Died at LaCrosse.
Mrs. Meta Riefenstein died at the home of her son, Henry Riefenstein, at LaCrosse, Monday last, in her 87th year, from heart failure due to old age. Mrs. Riefenstein was born in Hanover, Germany, and for many years was a resident of Hamburg. In 1875 they came to America and joined their son at McGregor where he was engaged in business. Two or three years later they came to Decorah to reside, where Mrs. Riefenstein remained until some five or six years ago. She then went to St. Paul where she lived until about six months ago. Since then she has made her home with her son in LaCrosse. The remains were brought to Decorah Tuesday night and the funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the home of Wm. Langhans in West Decorah. Mrs. Langhans is a niece of Mrs. Riefenstein.
