Mr. McKernan died at his home near Clermont last week. The funeral took place at the Catholic church at Ossian on Friday morning Mr. McKernan has been ailing for the last twenty years, and not until now has he been relieved.

James McKernan one of the oldest settlers of Bloomfield township died at his home Wednesday night the 15th. Mr. McKernan had been in failing health for a long time but the immediate cause of his death was paralysis. The latter part of his life he lived with his son John on the old homestead. The funeral occurred from the Catholic church at Ossian. We are not furnished an obituary.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone shows he was born February 4, 1820 and died February 14, 1905.
