MRS. DANIEL FOLEY.
After an illness covering only a week Mrs. Daniel Foley, for nearly forty years a resident of Decorah, died on Sunday inst, aged seventy years. Mrs. Foley’s maiden name was Katherine Murphy and she was born I County Cook, Ireland, coming to America with her father in early childhood. For a number of years she resided at St. Louis. About forty years ago she was married to Daniel Foley at McGregor. They came to Decorah immediately and here the home has been ever since. Up to a week previous to her death Mrs. Foley had enjoyed good health. She was then afflicted with a liver complaint, but nothing that could be done afforded relief. Of five children but one remains. Daniel A. Foley, who came yesterday from Cumberland, Md., to pay a final tribute to one who had been a devoted mother. The funeral was held yesterday morning at 9:30 o’clock at the Catholic church and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in St. Benedict Cemetery shows she was born in 1843 and her name was spelled Catherine.
