MRS. SUSAN A. REED.
Mrs. Susan A. Reed, mother of Mrs. Eliza Tyler of Decorah, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. S. Anderson of Osceola, Mo., on January 2d. Mrs. Reed was born in New York state December 14, 1823, and wase{sic} married to Joseph Reed in 1843. In 1854 they came west and located in Winneshiek county, where they resided for many years. Mr. Reed died in 1864, leaving his widow with a family of children to support. All who were acquainted with Mrs. Reed during the years of her residence in Decorah know of her hard and heroic struggle in the world. Of ten children five are living. They are Mrs. Tyler and Mrs. Anderson, Joseph Reed who also resides in Missouri, Harvey, whose home is in Illinois, and Mrs. Wilbur of Leroy, Minn. Although she has been back to Decorah for visits during the past nine or ten years Mrs. Reed has lived with her daughter in Misouri.{sic} The remains were interred in Osceola.
