The remains of Mrs. Martha Tipp, one of the earlier residence of Conover, were brought to Decorah Sunday for burial. For many weary months Mrs. Tipp has been a sufferer from cancer, which was seated at the root of her tongue, and during the past month it has been almost an impossibility for her to eat anything, the growth having become so large that it was impossible to swallow. Radium, the latest discovery applicable to this disease, was tried, but only to arrest for a short time its progress. Had she not been a woman of unusual physical strength it is not probable that she would have lived so long. Mrs. Tipp was the wife of Fred Tipp Sr., came to Conover in 1865, and was in her 69th year. Death came to her last Thursday evening
