Thomas Pelikan died at his home last Thursday, Oct. 5th, after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Tallin, Bohemia, in January, 1828, and at that place in 1858 he was united in marriage with Miss Rosa Houdek who preceded him in death, having passed away in August, 1904. The deceased served in the Austrian army from 1847 to 1855, when he was honorably discharged. In June, 1869, they came to this country, settling at Pittsburg, Pa. After a few months’ residence there they moved to this county, settling near Fort Atkinson. In 1875 they moved to this city, making their home here ever since. To Mr. and Mrs. Pelikan were born three children, two daughters having died in infancy and one son, J. J. Pelikan, our highly esteemed furniture man., being the only survivor. For the past thirty years Mr. Pelikan has been sexton in the Catholic church at this place. In his death the Fort loses one of its most esteemed citizen, Mr. and Mrs. J. J.
