THE WORK OF THE REAPER.
STEEN
At noon Tuesday of this week Miss Josie Steen, only daughter of Mrs. C. A. Steen, passed away after a brief illness from inflammation of the veins. Miss Steen was born in Glenwood township thirty-seven years ago, but most of her life was spent in Decorah where the family home has been since her early childhood. She was one of those who never enjoyed robust health, but her physical difficulties were borne with patience. In her daily life she was a sincere Christian and a dutiful daughter. The funeral will be held to-day, service at the house at two o’clock preceding services at the First Lutheran church at 2:30. Rev. I. B. Torrison will officiate.
The sympathy of many old friends goes out to the mother in her bereavement.Transcriber’s Note: Lutheran Decorah Cemetery shows she is buried there and that her name was Josephine Mathilda. She was born November 27, 1867 and died October 10, 1905.
