Jane Drake was born Dec. 5th, 1833, and came to this county in 1851. In February, 1856, she married L. P. Frazine, and began a residence in this city and vicinity that lasted until old age made it best for her to go to Cedar Rapids, where her son Andrew and daughter Ida reside. It was there that death came to her on the afternoon of last Sabbath day. The cause of her death was dropsy. There are five sons, two daughters, two brothers and one sister who survive her, viz:—Sons, Andrew, Ed., Chauncey and Arthur, living at Sioux City, and Lewis, Decorah. The daughters are Ida and Cora, at Chicago. Other relatives are Nathan and Kelso Drake, brothers, and a sister Mrs. Wise, residing at Artesian, S. D.
The remains were brought to Decorah for burial beside those of her husband, in the Phelps cemetery.
