OBITUARY.
Mrs. Anna Maria {nee Larsen) Christianson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. O. Johnson, in Pleasant township at 2 o’clock last Sunday afternoon, at the good old age of 84 years.
Deceased was born in Norway, in January, 1821, and married in 1844, to Christian Christianson. In 1852 she came with her husband to the United States and located in Wisconsin; but two years later they came to Iowa and found a home in Pleasant township, where they have lived until death called them. Her husband died several years ago, and of nine children seven (two sons and five daughters) survive her, These are Mr. C. B. Christian of Clear Lake, Albert B. Christian of Pleasant township, Mrs. Bertha Hover of Locust, Mrs. E. G. Opdahl of Decorah, Mrs. John Tarvestad of Tama Co., and Mrs. L. O. Johnson. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church at Locust, Rev Jacobson of Newberg and Rev. Sanaker of Minneapolis officiating. Thus another pioneer mother whose fidelity was attested by fifty years’ residence in her Iowa home, passes into her long rest. Her remains were buried in the cemetery attached to the Locust church.
