Another Sudden Death.
During the past week this community has been shocked by another sudden death. Geo. W. Daskam, residing a few miles south of here, is the last victim to encounter death in thes{sic} way. Last Monday afternoon bout 4 o’clock death called him without a moments warning. He was engaged moving his household goods onto the Walt Eddy farm recently purchased by him, and had already delivered one load when he complained of feeling tired, he laid down on a lounge and expired almost instantly. Funeral occurred Wednesday with services at the Kendallville church and body laid to rest in the Eddy cemetery.
Geo. W. Daskam was born at Decorah, Iowa, June 15, 1857, He married, December 19, 1884, Miss Allie Shelmidine; wife, three children and four sisters survive him. The children are Mrs. Clifford, Eddy, Miss Edith and son Walter.
Mr. Daskam has lived in this community a long time and was generally liked and respected by his neighbors and acquaintances. Although he had complained about feeling ill several times the past week or so, no one surmised but that he was a well man. The cause of death was thought to have been some form of heart trouble. He was a member of the Cresco M. W. A. and carried $2,000 insurance in that order. The funeral services at the grave were in charge of that order.
The funeral was a very large one and was attended by many from afar. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dunn, Minneapolis; Mrs. Adie Stevens, Spencer, Iowa; W. C. Fifield and wife, of Fayette, Iowa; Mr. Frank Bagen and daughter of Le Roy.—Harmony News.
