Old Settler Gone.
Last Wednesday at his home in Bluffton, William Bently, an old and highly esteemed resident of Bluffton township, fell before the silent reaper.
Deceased was born in Oneda county, New York in 1819 and moved to Wisconsin in 1851. After a 4 year’s residence in that state he came to this county where he has since resided. His demise was caused by old age and a general breaking down of the constitution. He leaves one son, G. W. Bentley of Bluffton, with whom he resided. Funeral services were held from the home on Friday, Rev. Hallett presiding, and interment was made in the Bluffton cemetery.—Decorah Public Opinion.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in Bluffton Cemetery shows that his name was spelled Bentley. He was born October 19, 1819 and died July 31, 1907.
